Cardinals’ Bruce Arians Likely To Step Away From Coaching

Published

on

The Arizona Cardinals are expected to be searching for a new coach soon, as head coach Bruce Arians is expected to step away from coaching after the conclusion of the regular season, though Arians has not yet informed the team of his plans, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Arians owns a 48-30-1 record during his time with the Cardinals and is a two-time Associated Press Coach of the Year.

Arizona has missed the postseason the past two seasons which can be blamed on an unfortunate rash of injuries to top tier players such as running back David Johnson, quarterback Carson Palmer and defensive star Tyrann Mathieu, to name a few.

Arians, 65, also has experienced multiple health scares during his tenure with the team.

Arians has said in the past that he’d like to at least finish out his contract, which runs through 2018 and also includes a team option for 2019.
