The Chicago Bears won’t be losing a key member of their coaching staff as Vic Fangio agreed to return as the Bears’ defensive coordinator, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune.

The Green Bay Packers were interested in Fangio, but opted to hire Mike Pettine instead. There was speculation that cost came into play during the decision making process as Fangio made upwards of $2M last year.

Chicago was 14th in defensive DVOA last season.
