Dolphins To Sign Brock Osweiler

Published

on

The Miami Dolphins have found their backup quarterback, agreeing to terms with free agent signal caller Brock Osweiler, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The fit makes sense as Dolphins’ head coach Adam Gase is familiar with Osweiler from their time together with the Denver Broncos.

Osweiler, 27, never lived up to the big free agent contract he signed with the Houston Texans, but he has shown that he can be a capable backup who can start in a pinch.

Given his experience and familiarity with Gase’s system, it seems like a logical fit. Gase has spent the entire offseason bringing in staff and players who are more familiar with his style and personality, as Miami undergoes a roster makeover.

Osweiler threw for 1,088 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions while completing 55.8% of his passes for the Broncos last season.
