Texans, Jadeveon Clowney Closing In On Contract Extension

Houston Texans pass rushing specialist Jadeveon Clowney will be entering the final year of his rookie contract, which will pay him $12.3M in 2018, and the Texans are looking to lock in a new deal.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, the Texans and Clowney are making progress towards a new deal that is being described as a “mega extension”.

Clowney, 25, had a career-high 9.5 sacks for Houston in 2017.

The Houston Texans are signing veteran safety Mike Adams, according to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.

Adams now joins his sixth team, and has appeared in 222 games during his career.

By joining the Texans he will now take the field for the 16th season of his career, and if he plays 2 more games he will continue to climb the NFL’s all-time list for safeties.

Anger, who signed with Houston prior to training camp, lost the competition to Trevor Daniel following the preseason.

The Houston Texans have signed center Nick Martin to a three-year, $33 million contract extension, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

Martin’s new deal includes $18.35 million guaranteed.

Martin has been the Texans’ starting center since the 2017 season and was set to hit the free agent market following the season.
