Bengals’ A.J. Green Not Seeking New Contract

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green is supportive of Atlanta Falcons’ wide receiver Julio Jones’ quest to strike a new deal, but Green isn’t looking for the same with the Bengals.

“(He’s) got to do what he’s got to do, man,” Green said of Jones’ efforts, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “The NFL stands for ‘Not For Long,’ so you got to get it while it lasts.”

Despite backing Jones’ efforts, Green says he is comfortable with his current deal.

“I think the biggest thing for me, I’m always comfortable with stuff I’m doing – I signed a deal and I’m comfortable with the deal and I just live with it,” Green said, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

“After that’s up, we go back to the board. I don’t really get caught up in what’s the money like because I signed my deal and it was the highest paid at that point. It’s going to always go up. So you can’t keep up with that.”

Green currently makes $15 million per year with 2 years remaining on his current contract.

“For me, I just keep everything simple,” Green said. “I really don’t try to get into all that other stuff. At the end of the day I just want to play football. I got my contract. I’m set for life. Now I can just go out there and play.”

Steelers’ James Conner Out, Juju Smith-Schuster Doubtful

Pittsburgh Steelers’ running back James Connor has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the winless Cincinnati Bengals due to a shoulder injury, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

Compounding issues further, Steelers’ wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster may miss the game as well as “it’s not looking good” for the Steelers’ explosive superstar wide receiver’s status for Sunday’s game.

The Steelers will also be without center Maurkice Pouncey as well, as he is serving a suspension.

Jaguars Sign Nick O’Leary

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed veteran tight end Nick O’Leary, according to an announcement by SportsTrust Advisors.

O’Leary was cut last month by the Miami Dolphins and will bring some much needed help to the Jags’ tight end corps, which has been riddled by injuries this season, with James O’Shaughnessy and Geoff Swain both on the injures reserve.

O’Leary, 27, was cut from the Dolphins following their Week 8 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, a game in which O’Leary had a crucial drop.

Broncos’ Andy Janovich Out For Season

Denver Broncos’ fullback Andy Janovich will miss the rest of the season after he suffered a dislocated elbow during Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings, according to 9News’ Mike Klis.

Janovich agreed to a three-year, $5.7 million contract extension with the Broncos last month, and although fullbacks haven’t been a big part of the NFL game over the past several years, he has been one of the big name’s behind the position’s resurgence recently.
