Seahawks Acquire Brett Hundley

The Seattle Seahawks have acquired quarterback Brett Hundley from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

Seattle had both Austin Davis and seventh-round draft pick Alex McGough battling it out in training camp for the backup job behind starting signal caller Russell Wilson, but the trade indicates that the Seahawks didn’t like what they saw.

While replacing an injured Aaron Rodgers, Hundley went 3-6 , tossing 1,836 yards with nine touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Green Bay will now keep both DeShone Kizer and Tim Boyle as backup quarterbacks on their 53-man roster, according to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky.

The saga of tight end Michael Roberts continues to take disappointing turns, as he has been waived by the Green Bay Packers only a few days after they claimed him on waivers, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

The Packers waived Roberts due to a failed physical, which also nixed his trade from the Detroit Lions to the New England Patriots earlier this month.

Green Bay picked up Roberts after he was reverted back to the Lions’ roster and ultimately waived.

Roberts, 25, has 13 career receptions for 146 yards.

Jaire Alexander

Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander has some big goals for the 2019 season, where he believes he is set to breakout.

“I just want to have a good year, for real. I see myself in the Pro Bowl. I see myself as an All-Pro,” Alexander said, according to the Packers’ official website.

Alexander also proclaimed that the defense would see a much different season then the saw in 2018.

“We didn’t get the ball out enough last year, but this year that’s going to change,” Alexander said. “Our front seven, we have great edge rushers. I’m not even going to say good. Those dudes are coming, so the ball is going to be out a lot faster.”

“I’ve got all the confidence in the world. Last year was a great starting point for me, but this year is going to be my dog year. I’m putting my stamp on that,” Alexander said.
