Bills’ Josh Allen Looking to Get Back On the Field

Published

on

Buffalo Bills rookie quarterback Josh Allen is still working his way back from an elbow injury that has kept him out of action the last few weeks, but he continues to take steps in a return to the field, even taking limited reps during Wednesday’s practice.

Prior to the injury, Allen was showing glimpses of getting more comfortable playing at the NFL level, and is “anxious” to get back to work.

“I felt the last two games I played in I was playing good football, putting the ball where it needed to be and making the right decisions,” Allen said, during an interview on NFL.com. “Keeping the ball out of harm’s way and we saw ourselves win against the Titans and we were in the game late against Houston. Things were just starting to slow down for me, so I’m anxious to get back out there and see if that can continue. With the help of (offensive coordinator Brian) Daboll and (Derek Anderson) and the guys we have in the room I think it will.”

While Allen hasn’t blown anyone away statistically, and with the Bills in clear tank mode, Allen still has shown positive signs in relation to his ongoing development and is hoping to get back to action soon to continue his ascension.

“My main priority right now is getting back healthy. I can still play, man. I’m not thinking about retirement. I just don’t know where it will be,” Thomas said, according to the Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson.

“I told them I would love to finish my career here, but we’ll see…This is what we have to deal with as players and guys in the locker room. I hope my appearance and being around the guys and talking to a couple of guys helped. I don’t want to say I helped that much play-wise, but leadership-wise, I think I helped.”
