Redskins’ Jonathan Cooper Done For Year

The hits keep on coming for the Washington Redskins as they lost guard Jonathan Cooper to a torn biceps tendon that will end his season, according to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.

The news comes on the heels of the announcement that quarterback Colt McCoy, who exited the first half of their Monday Night tilt against the Houston Texans, will miss the remainder of the season.

Cooper started in all four of his games for the Redskins, playing both the guard and left tackle position during that span.

Eagles’ Carson Wentz Expected Healthy For Offseason Program

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is expected to be healthy for the start of the team’s offseason program, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Wentz suffered a stress fracture in his back, which cost him the final games of the season, and the playoffs as well.

It was the second consecutive season that Wentz suffered a season ending injury.

Chiefs Looking at New Contract for Patrick Mahomes After 2019

While there is still disappointment surrounding the Kansas City Chiefs following their AFC Championship loss to the New England Patriots, the future is bright, especially after an MVP-type season from quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Chiefs are looking to work on a new contract with Mahomes following the 2019 season, when he will become eligible for a contract extension.

The report goes on tho speculate that the new deal for Mahomes could be the NFL’s first $200 million deal.

Mahomes, 23, threw for 5,097 yards and a league-leading 50 touchdowns in 2018, leading the Chiefs to the AFC Championship game.

Rams to Discuss Contract Extension With Sean McVay

The Los Angeles Rams, who are headed to a Super Bowl showdown with the New England Patriots, are planning to work out a new contract with head coach Sean McVay, according to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora.

McVay, 32, could be headed for a deal that could come close to that of the higher tier coaches in the NFL, such as Jon Gruden, especially if he can bring home a Lombardi Trophy to Los Angeles.
