Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski will return to his post in Minnesota next season after failing to land the head coaching gig with the Cleveland Browns, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Stefanski, 36, whose contract expired following the season, had only been considered for the Browns job and was the youngest candidate under consideration.
It’s likely that with another year under his belt in Minnesota, that he becomes a hot candidate for head coaching jobs in 2020.

Vikings Re-Sign Ameer Abdullah
The Minnesota Vikings have re-signed veteran running back Ameer Abdullah to a one-year deal, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press’ Chris Tomasson.
Abdullah didn’t notch a single carry with the Vikings last season, who claimed him off waivers from the Detroit Lions back in November.
Abdullah had flamed out in Detroit as he was never able to establish himself as a full-time starter despite the Lions taking him in the 2nd round of the 2015 NFL draft.
Anthony Barr Cancels Deal with Jets, Re-Signs with Vikings
Anthony Barr isn’t heading to the New York Jets afterall.
According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, Barr will earn $13.5 million per year, less than the $14 million he would have made by completing his deal with the Jets.
