Atlanta Falcons veteran kicker Matt Bryant plans to continue his playing career in 2019.

Bryant, 43, announced his decision to return in 2019, via his Twitter page.

Over this past year I’ve been asked numerous times about retirement and how I feel. Well, I’m not retiring and I feel fine and plan on feeling even better with some changes to my offseason program!— matt bryant (@Matt_Bryant3) February 6, 2019

Schraeder has spent the last 6 seasons with the Falcons, and with his release Atlanta will clear $3.95 million in cap room while taking on $3.8 million in dead money.

The Atlanta Falcons are reworking the contract of franchise quarterback Matt Ryan in an effort to create some more cap space.

According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the Falcons converted $8.75 million of Ryan’s base salary into a signing bonus, which created $7 million in cap space for the Falcons.

Falcons Discussing Contract Extension with Deion Jones

The Atlanta Falcons are negotiation a contract extension with inside linebacker Deion Jones, according to ESPN’s Vaughn McClue.

Jones, who has a year remaining on his rookie deal, is currently slated to earn $1.07 million in 2019 and appears to be a part of the Falcons’ plans moving forward.

Jones earned a Pro Bowl nod back in 2017, but missed most of the 2018 season due to a broken foot he endured in Week 1.

Still, Jones when out to record 53 tackles, 1 sack, and 2 interceptions, including a pick six, in 2018 for Atlanta.
