Saints to Hire Darren Rizzi

The New Orleans Saints are adding one of the best special teams coordinator in the NFL, as they will hire Darren Rizzi to their staff, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

Rizzi parted ways with the Miami Dolphins after a lengthy tenure, following the hiring of Brian Flores. Rizzi was interviewed for the head coaching gig, but decided to leave instead of stay on as part of Flores’ staff.

Rizz will replaced Mike Westhoff, who was dismissed from his post with the team.

Saints Sign Nick Easton

The New Orleans Saints have signed veteran offensive lineman Nick Easton to a four-year, $24 million deal, according to Sirius XM Radio’s Adam Caplan.

Easton will take over for All-Pro center Max Unger, who retired over the weekend.

Easton had been talking with the Minnesota Vikings and another team as well.

Saints Signing Mario Edwards Jr.

The New Orleans Saints are expected to sign veteran defensive end Mario Edwards Jr., according to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.

Edwards, 25, who was claimed off waivers by the New York Giants last September, will join the Saints on a two-year, $5 million deal that includes $1.5 “upside for sacks.”

Dolphins Meeting With Teddy Bridgewater

The Miami Dolphins are making a late push to try and sign quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, according to ESPN’s Cameron Wolfe.

Bridgewater has agreed to terms on a new deal with the New Orleans Saints, but it appears Miami is trying to lure him away from New Orleans with a last-minute push.

The Dolphins have lost out on Tyrod Taylor, who agreed with the Los Angeles Chargers, and currently do not have a plan for when they cut Ryan Tannehill.

According to the Boston Globe’s Ben Volin, the Dolphins are meeting with Bridghewater today, while saying that the reports of a new deal between Bridgewater and the Saints may have been premature.
