Bears’ Eddie Jackson Aiming for Big Year for Bears Defense
Chicago Bears safety Eddie Jackson has some big goals for the super talented Bears defense as we head into the 2019 season.
“I’ll go right now for our defense to be number one, across the board” Jackson said, during an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “Like, I told ’em earlier, shouts out to the ’85 Bears, but, we want to top everything they’ve done,” Jackson said.
With a new defensive coordinator in Chuck Pagano, the Bears are certainly talented enough, across the board, to be one of the NFL’s best units next season.
“As far as scheme, man, we’re a little more aggressive” Jackson continued.
“It’s about the same. It’s not a big difference. Coach Pagano is more vocal than Coach Vic [Fangio]. Right now, I could say he’s more “uppity”. Coach Vic is more mellow, laid back, and chill. But he’s smart. They’re both smart.
They can tell you anything inside-out about an offense. For us, right now, it’s just to buy in, to keep our heads down, and keep working, and to just have his back, because he’s showing us he has ours, on and off the field.”
Bears’ Eddie Jackson Says Team Ready to Make Noise
The Chicago Bears won’t be lacking any confidence as they head into the 2019 season, and veteran safety Eddie Jackson believes the team is ready to make some serious noise next season.
“Everything — how short, and how far, we came,” Jackson said, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
“From the losing record to the winning record. How short we came, with the first-round playoff game with the field goal. Right now we just want to build off everything and let that be the fuel to our fire. We plan on taking this whole thing.”
The Bears’ success will hinge on the continued development of quarterback Mitchell Trubisky more than anything else.
