Vikings’ Holton Hill Suspended for 4 Games

Minnesota Vikings cornerback Holton Hill has been suspended by the league for the first 4 games of the 2019 season for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs, according to an official league announcement.

Hill, 22, is still rehabbing from a torn ACL and is coming off a strong season for the Vikings in 2018 in which he appeared in all 16 games, and started 3.

Hill, an undrafted free agent, collected 26 tackles and one interception during the season for Minnesota.

Vikings, Kyle Rudolph Agree to Contract Extension

The Minnesota Vikings and veteran tight end Kyle Rudolph have agreed to a four-year, $36 million contract extension, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

According to the Star Tribune’s Ben Goessling, Rudolph’s new deal will see him earn $9 million in 2019, fully guaranteed, while his 2020 salary is guaranteed for injury.

The Minnesota Vikings have ended the short tenure of offensive lineman Adam Bisnowaty by announcing that they have waived him.

Bisnowaty landed with the Vikings back in October 2018 and spent the rest of the season on the practice squad.

His waiving was done to create a roster spot for undrafted rookie free agent defensive end Stacy Keely, who participated in the team’s rookie minicamp on a tryout last week, able to earn a contract in the process.

Vikings Declining Laquon Treadwell’s Option

The Minnesota Vikings are expected to decline the fifth-year option on the contract of wide receiver Laquon Treadwell, according to the Pioneer Press’ Chris Tomasson.

Had Minnesota opted to exercise the option on Treadwell, they would have had to pony up $10.162 million for the 2020 season, making the decision to decline to do so wise.

Treadwell has never lived up to his first round selection, and could be traded in the near future.
