Packers Release Mike Daniels

The Green Bay Packers have released veteran defensive tackle Mike Daniels, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Daniels, a former Pro Bowler, was due to make $8.1 million this season in base salary and bonuses, so the move is likely financially motivates as the Packers will save $8.3 million, with $2.4 million in dead money, by cutting Daniels.

Daniels collected 18 tackles and 2 sacks last season for Green Bay.

Packers’ Jaire Alexander Looking for Big 2019

Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander has some big goals for the 2019 season, where he believes he is set to breakout.

“I just want to have a good year, for real. I see myself in the Pro Bowl. I see myself as an All-Pro,” Alexander said, according to the Packers’ official website.

Alexander also proclaimed that the defense would see a much different season then the saw in 2018.

“We didn’t get the ball out enough last year, but this year that’s going to change,” Alexander said. “Our front seven, we have great edge rushers. I’m not even going to say good. Those dudes are coming, so the ball is going to be out a lot faster.”

“I’ve got all the confidence in the world. Last year was a great starting point for me, but this year is going to be my dog year. I’m putting my stamp on that,” Alexander said.

Packers Claim Michael Roberts

Following the falling through of a trade between the Detroit Lions and New England Patriots that was supposed to ship veteran tight end Michael Roberts to the Pats, Roberts has finally found as new team.

According to Pro Football Talk’s Josh Alper, Roberts has been claimed off waivers by the Green Bay Packers.

Roberts, 25, has collected 25 catches for 146 yards in his career.
