49ers’ Robbie Gould Considering Holdout

Published

on

San Francisco 49ers veteran kicker Robbie Gould could stage a holdout if his demand for a trade is not met, meaning he may not be present when training camp opens later this month, according to the Mercury News’ Cam Inman.

“I’m not going to commit to making any decision right now” Gould said recently.

Gould has been offered a franchise tender by the team, at $5 million, but he seems dedicated to his position of not signing it.

“I don’t really have a plan right now,” Gould said. “Obvious there is a deadline and I don’t have to make any decisions anytime soon. … The deadline to sign a long-term contract is Monday, and the rest of that (potential holdout) is up to me.”
