Cowboys Sign Alfred Morris

The Dallas Cowboys are prepping for being without running back Ezekiel Elliott as he stays away from training camp, and have signed veteran running back Alfred Morris, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

Morris was set to visit with the New Orleans Saints, and played 28 games for the Cowboys from 2016-2018, proving to be productive during his tenure.

Morris, 30, now gives some valuable depth behind Elliott, and is coming off a season with the San Francisco 49ers in which he rushed for 428 yards.

Cowboys Make Offer to Ezekiel Elliott

The Dallas Cowboys have reportedly made a massive contract offer to running back Ezekiel Elliott that would make him one of the top-two highest paid players in the league, according to ESPN’s Ed Werder.

Elliott has been holding out in hopes to land a new deal, and things have been a little contentious between the running back and the Cowboys at times.

According to reports, Elliot is looking for a deal with annual values in the $15 million range.

Cowboys Release Allen Hurns

The Dallas Cowboys have released veteran wide receiver Allen Hurns, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Dallas apparently asked Hurns to take a pay cut this offseason, so it’s likely that their request and this release are related.

Hurns hauled in 20 passes for 295 yardss and 2 touchdowns last season, which was a far cry from expectations when the Cowboys inked him to a two-year, $12 million contract.

Cowboys’ Randy Gregory Applying for Reinstatement

Dallas Cowboys’ pass rusher Randy Gregory is set to apply for reinstatement into the NFL this week, according to NFL Network insdier Ian Rapoport.

Gregory played in 14 games last season for Dallas last season, but his career has been marred by suspensions.

It’s unclear if the NFL will grant him reinstatement given how recently, and frequently, he has been suspended, but his return would be a major boost to the Cowboys’ defensive line this season.
