Cowboys Sign Alfred Morris

The Dallas Cowboys are prepping for being without running back Ezekiel Elliott as he stays away from training camp, and have signed veteran running back Alfred Morris, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

Morris was set to visit with the New Orleans Saints, and played 28 games for the Cowboys from 2016-2018, proving to be productive during his tenure.

Morris, 30, now gives some valuable depth behind Elliott, and is coming off a season with the San Francisco 49ers in which he rushed for 428 yards.

Titans Waive Rod Smith

The Tennessee Titans have waived veteran running back Rod Smith, according to Titans.com’s Jim Wyatt.

In a corresponding move, the Titans promoted offensive lineman Daniel Munyer, 27, from the practice squad to take the open roster spot that was created the open roster spot. Munyer has bounced around the NFL during his career.

Smith, 27, signed with the Titans in early October.

Cowboys’ Connor Williams To Undergo Surgery

Dallas Cowboys’ left guard Connor Williams will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery, according to Dallas Morning News’ Michael Gehlken.

Despite the surgery, Williams is not expected to be places on the injured reserve and could be back on the field in just a few weeks.

While Williams is out, Xavier Su’a-Filo is expected to take his place in the lineup.

Cowboys Seeking Safety As Trade Deadline Looms

The Dallas Cowboys are watching the market and could land themselves some safety help ahead of the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday.

According to the Star Telegram’s Clarence Hill, Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones says that the team will be looking for a safety at the deadline.

While there will be a number of veterans available, the Cowboys may find a trade with the Miami Dolphins for veteran safety Reshad Jones the most beneficial, as the Dolphins continue to unload talent from their roster as they stockpile draft picks.
