The Miami Dolphins are taking a shot at defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche, whom they signed to a one-year, $1.9 million deal, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

According to NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo, Dolphins’ offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil was a “big advocate” for Nkemdiche, who he was college teammates with at Ole Miss.

Nkemdiche, the former first round pick of the Arizona Cardinals back in 2016, was cut by the Cards a few weeks ago.

Nkemdiche possesses talent, but injuries and questions about his effort has hindered his career.
