Should the Dallas Cowboys fail to find a suitable deal for pass rusher Taco Charlton, they plan to release him, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport and Jane Slater.
Charlton, a former first round draft pick, has been a major disappointment during his short career, and with the return of defensive end Robert Quinn from a two-game ban, there is no more room for Charlton on the roster.
Charlton, 24, has battled injuries during his career, and has been hit with the injury bug this past offseason.
Cowboys Release Taco Charlton
Charlton never lived up to his lofty draft selection, when the Cowboys utilized a 1st round pick a few years ago.
With the return of defensive end Robert Quin from suspension, Charlton no longer had a place on the roster.
Cowboys Release Rolando McClain
The Dallas Cowboys released linebacker Rolando McClain, according to the Dallas Morning News’ Calvin Watkins.
McClain, who was recently granted conditional reinstatement into the NFL, has stated his desire to continue his playing career.
McClain, 30, hasn’t played since the 2015 season.
Cowboys Make Offer to Ezekiel Elliott
The Dallas Cowboys have reportedly made a massive contract offer to running back Ezekiel Elliott that would make him one of the top-two highest paid players in the league, according to ESPN’s Ed Werder.
Elliott has been holding out in hopes to land a new deal, and things have been a little contentious between the running back and the Cowboys at times.
According to reports, Elliot is looking for a deal with annual values in the $15 million range.
