“No. … This staff has performed before. My hope is they can fix what needs to be fixed and start winning some games,” Blank said, per the report.
The Falcons dropped to 1-4 following their loss at the hands of the Houston Texans on Sunday, and look like a shell of the team that went to the Super Bowl only a few years ago.
The Falcons have seen a complete drop from their defense, and their offense has fallen off considerable since Kyle Shanahan left to become the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers.
Falcons Sign Kasey Redfern
Redfern will take the pace of Matt Wile, who struggled during the game against the Houston Texans, with a number of kickoffs landing out of bounds.
The Falcons are currently 1-4 on the season.
Falcons Closing in On Extension for Julio Jones
Per the report, Falcons’ owner Arthur Blank said that the team is “very, very close” to an extension with Jones.
In preparation for the potential extension with Jones, the Falcons restructured the contracts of left tackle Jake Matthews and safety Ricardo Allen, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo.
The moves created an additional $5 million in cap space for the Falcons.
